What do Architects do?

  • Architects design buildings and other structures.

  • They have to draw out a plan for the buildings first.

  • These buildings are functional, safe, economical, and suit the needs of people who use it.


How do you become an Architect?

  • There are three types of professional degrees in architecture:

  1. 5-year Bachelor of Architecture Program- for students with no previous architectural training

  2. 2-year Master of Architecture program- for students with a professional undergraduate degree in architecture or a related area

  3. 3 or 4-year Master of Architecture program- for students with degrees in other areas

  • In the United States you must be licensed to provide architectural services

  • To be licensed means you have a professional degree in architecture, completed a period of training or internship, and pass all parts of the Architect Registration Examination


How much money do Architects make?

  • The median annual salary of Architects is $64,150
